{ I + K Wedding 07.01.10 }
On July 1st 2010 we had the privilege of servicing our very first wedding!!
Irfan and Kiran are originally from the GTA but currently live in Calgary.
Their wedding reception was being held at The Big Barn in Balls Falls, where our
wedding was! To make it even more of a deja vu moment, they even hired the
same photographer!! They are such and energetic couple and we just had a blast
working with them during the planning process! It was really funny seeing how Kiran
was just like Aaron and Irfan was just like me (personality wise) when it came to
planning. We always had giggles during our skype meetings which mad it very easy
to work with them. They wanted the decor to be colourful with a touch of a rustic/
vintage feel but most importantly they wanted to make sure there was minimal
amount of waste produced.
Paper lanterns were hung from the barn rafters as well as old records
Centrepieces of potted flowers wrapped in old reused sewing
pattern paper doubled as a giveaway to ensure minimal waste.
The photo booth provided by Chan-Ra was used as the guest book.
Guests used chalkboard signs to write a message to the happy couple!

We had a wonderful time getting to know Irfan and Kiran who started out as
clients but by the end turned into friends!
The next time we see them will hopefully be in CALGARY !!

{ Noah & Sophia - Vintage Children's Portraits }
This children's portrait session was a really neat experience for Aaron and I.
First off Therese De Jesus (the very talented photographer of Artiese Photography )
contacted us a few months back wondering if we could collaborate with her for a
children's photo shoot. She had seen the “UP” engagement session we had done
with MAD photography and was interested in the idea of stylized photos. Aaron
and I immediately looked up her website! We were so impressed by her work
and very honoured that she wanted to work with us!
Little Noah and Sophia are actually our godchildren who we l-o-v-e dearly!
We thought of them right away for this shoot – you can see why.... THEY ARE
SUPER-DUPER ADORABLE!!! As usual, we wanted to capture our
signature “vintage” style for this session. Fabric banners, children's
bench/chair, apples, paper pin wheels, candy apples, vintage books are just some
of the props used for the shoot.

{ UP Mock Engagement Shoot }
This stylized mock engagement shoot was inspired by Disney's Pixar "UP",
a delightful movie about Carl Fredricksen falling in love and enduring the trials
of life. For our mock engagement photo shoot we depicted the part when
Carl and his wife Ellie enjoy the simple moments in life; a picnic at the
park, sitting on their favourite chairs, reminiscing through their adventure
book and dreaming of one day going to Paradise Falls- their favourite
place in the world!
